Robbery Leads To Cross-State Chase And Arrest

It began as a robbery, and then turned into a police chase crossing state lines. On Sunday, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says a man walked into the Special Way convenient store on State Route 213, and demanded cash. Although witnesses say he claimed he was armed, a gun was not seen. The thief made off with what is being called “an undisclosed amount of cash.” An Ohio State Highway Patrol officer, shortly after it happened, spotted a car matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle, and began to follow it. Then, the chase began on U.S. Route 22 near Lover’s Lane in Steubenville, and ended in Pennsylvania. Two suspects are now in custody. Nobody was hurt. Charges are pending. So far, no names have been released.
