WHEELING DEEMS VACANT HOUSE FIRE SUSPICIOUS

Wheeling officials now say they believe a Thursday night fire on S. Huron Street on Wheeling Island is suspicious. That fire first was reported last Thursday around 7PM, and it was the second fire at the same vacant home in just the past year. The house has no utilities connected, and no one lives there. Nobody was there when the fire broke out, and nobody was hurt fighting it. Now, investigators say they have sent evidence to the crime lab in Charleston for a closer look. The first fire at that same house… back in March… was of undetermined origin. Now, following the second fire last week, the house is a total loss.
