VACANT HOUSE IN WHEELING DESTROYED BY FLAMES

Last night in Wheeling, a house on South Huron Street on Wheeling Island went up in flames. And firefighters say it wasn’t the first time this year they responded to the same address. It happened just before 7 o’clock last night, when heavy smoke was first reported coming from the second floor of the house, and heavy flames were showing from the back of the building. The smoke could be seen from interstate 70. The house was vacant, with no utilities connected, but last night marked the second time it’s caught fire this year. No one was inside and nobody was hurt. The house is now considered a total loss. The cause of last night’s fire is under investigation.
